Session Title: The Future of Alternative Transportation

PUBLIC has been at the intersection of transportation, retail, and e-commerce since launching in 2010. Learn how PUBLIC has adapted to changing customer demographics, as well as riding and buying habits. What’s the future of urban mobility and where does the bike fit in? How are bike buyers changing? Attendees will meet in PUBLIC’s Hayes Valley retail store, have an opportunity to test ride the latest PUBLIC bikes, and discuss the future of transportation and retail with PUBLIC’s executives.

Session Title: Changing Car Insurance: Transforming the Claims Process to Create Fiercely Loyal Customers

Metromile is on a mission to transform the age-old car insurance industry— find out why it’s nudging consumers to think differently about everything from fixed rates to the way claims are filed and processed. In this panel discussion, Metromile’s claims and product teams will talk about how they collaborated to improve the company’s claims process. Attendees will be presented with a case study on what Metromile saw wrong, how it thought about customer experience, and how the team worked together to implement a new and improved claims solution, including features that go "beyond the claim" to transform the car insurance experience into a great one.

Hear from Shippo's founders how its foray into the SMB market helped it gain traction with enterprise companies and become the leading shipping API.

Session Title: Designing for Social Interaction 

Public life takes place in the space between destinations. It’s here we go for a jog, or run into friends. This is where we build our collective identity by encountering the differences and similarities of strangers. It’s where we meet our community and the world. It’s also where innovation happens. Innovation is about connecting unlikely dots. Whether it’s a chance meeting with a colleague or an energizing break from the routine, the interactions provided by life outside the office power what we do when we get back to our desks. Cities and campuses can be designed to foster or discourage this meeting of the minds. In this session, we’ll look at how Gehl’s data-driven approach puts interactions between people at the center of the design process, how human-scale design can help to attract and retain talent, and the qualities of environments that stimulate collaboration, creative serendipity, and delight, places that nurture the whole person.

Session Title: Driving Change Through Capitalism - An Appeal to the Cynical Optimist

Join Volta Founder Scott Mercer as he shares both challenges and concepts for driving long-term social missions in this politically-backward climate. Attendees will tour Volta’s 10,000+ square foot industrial-chic warehouse space in San Francisco's progressive Potrero Hill district and learn about the company's primary mission, the evolution of its products, and how Volta is pursuing its aggressive growth goals. Enjoy a light breakfast and enter to win fun prizes!

Session Title: Flying club that is disrupting commercial commutes.

Come find out how Surf Air is changing air travel as we know it. Learn what happens when you combine the effortless experience of Uber, the demand management model of Netflix, and the predictable revenue benefits of Salesforce— with an airline thrown on top for good measure. Attendees are invited to contemplate the intersection of the jet set and the sharing economy. 

Session Title: The Future of Fast

In this session CEO and Co Founder, Marc Fenigstein will show off the synthesis of thermal, mechanical, and electronic disciplines underpinning the Redshift high performance electric motorcycle. Fenigstein will detail the underlying architecture of the Redshift’s integrated chassis design, identify engineering and design challenges faced along the way, and discuss the product roadmap for Alta Motors moving forward. Then, meet the Alta staff and discuss the process by which it designs, tests and builds the future of fast. Attendees will get a hands on demo of the bike and help Redshift imagine where to take its tech, process, and team next. Throw a leg over the Redshift and get a sense of the feel and geometry of the bike, all while toasting a signature Alta inspired beer— Alta has partnered with the Bare Bottle Brew Co. to host this event in their relaxed brewery.

Session Title: How Electric Bikes Can Change the Way We Explore our Cities

Come check out what makes an electric bike tick. We'll have test rides available and our engineers will be on hand to explain our product and where innovation in the industry is headed. We'd also love some help brainstorming an important question: How can we increase the less than 1% of the US population that currently bikes to work?

Special Instructions for Attendees from the Host Company: Parking on Langton St is limited and there are some metered spots on both Brannan and Bryant streets nearby. If biking (recommended), you can get away with locking up in the REI parking lot right next door, but it's *not* recommended to park a car there. Looking forward to seeing you at the session!
