The Breaking News Network
Vice President
San Francisco Bay Area
I’m attending NewCo Bay Area with some specific questions in mind (below); I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I'm Vice President of The Breaking News Network, currently the largest and most comprehensive local news network in the world. The BNN’s news feeds average 20+ million impressions and clickthrough engagement of over 600,000 every week. BNN is ranked 5th in national reach among all local newspapers after @NYTimes, @WashingtonPost, @USAToday and @LATimes. We curate the best media and blog news feeds in 400 cities, and integrate under-reported local, regional and national stories as well as social good campaigns, ticker taping in real time 24×7 to an aggregate 1,200,000+ local followers on social media. I'm very interested in discussions of the future of media and social media as well as media's role providing high quality verifiable news and working with other sectors to promote social good.

I build relationships with businesses and organizations with social good campaigns well suited to our capacities in massive amplification, effective social media messaging and complex large-scale cohort campaigns. We also offer full service social media strategy and management for clients that want to enhance their in-house capacity. So, I’m looking forward to conversations about social media and digital PR strategy - what’s working, what’s not working and what’s your vision for scaling and distributing your social good efforts?

As Producer / Director of our BETA stage Climate News Network, I supervise the curation of 60+ local news feeds focused on a wide range of climate change and climate solutions stories, including topics such as renewables and efficiency, carbon farming and greenhouse gas sequestration, resilience and adaptation. I would love to hear about how your leadership advances climate solutions.

I also identify stories and sources for distribution on topics including Climate Solutions, Social Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, Election Security and Social Equity. I'm interested in learning about how leaders believe we should face the major social and environmental challenges of our time. For example, how should we address the trajectory towards fewer and less stable jobs and the resulting reduction in consumer buying power and social stability due to disruptive innovation, increased efficiency/sustainability, global marketplace, AI and automation?

As the Principal of Hannah Doress Events, I have two decades of experience shifting consensus and driving adoption of products, policy and practices through social and environmental good events and campaigns. I'm looking forward to conversations about best practices for engaging audiences, customers and supporters to participate in and amplify social and environmental progress.
