Session Title: How to Save Yourself and Have Fun Doing It

Join us at San Francisco Fire Department’s Training Center to find out how we created StartPro and partnered with San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Civic Innovation and FEMA's award-winning San Francisco Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) program to increase the City’s capacity of emergency trained volunteers.

Find out how we are creating a new sport designed to make people ready for just anything.
Get a first look at Alpha Bravo 2017, the nation’s first event series launching in San Francisco this year that combines rapid skills acquisition for emergency response, world-class training for speed, agility and quickness, and a team-based urban sports challenge.
Learn the 3 things you need to know to save yourself and your family.

Come and see how we take beams and heavy debris off of people trapped in a disaster.

After a large-scale earthquake, it may take 3 days or longer for any help to come as first responder resources will be overwhelmed, plus many more days to recover from the aftermath of the disaster. With Bay Area’s $626B GDP and thousands of lives on the line, the immediate response and recovery will depend on everyday people helping themselves and others.

Special Instructions for Attendees from the Host Company: The session is hosted at the San Francisco Fire Department Division of Training. Enter through the parking lot entrance on 19th Street between Folsom & Shotwell Streets. The session will be in the large training building in the main room. Limited parking will be available in the SFFD parking lot at the cinder wall in the back of the lot. You may drive in and park by the back wall if the yard is not blocked with training activity. Street parking is generally available as well.
