Session Title: Learning From the Fringe: co-opetition, community, and creativity in new and experimental music

What can social change leaders learn from the outsiders, the disenfranchised, the artists on the fringe? Center for New Music co-founder Adam Fong shares lessons from the fringes of new and experimental music. Learn from the example of one nonprofit arts startup that is bucking the trends of the commercial music industry, and explore community development concepts that are critical to experimentalism: unbridled creativity, friendly competition, and persistent advocacy towards collective impact.
